Quais são as técnicas usadas na Terapia de Visão?

1. Pencil flexion therapy
This eye exercise helps to correct binocular visual disorders such as strabismus. To start this therapy, hold a pencil at arm’s length. Draw the pencil towards the nose, keeping the focus on the tip of the pencil. Repeat the exercise when the pencil starts to blur to look like a double image. Your optometrist may suggest doing the exercise for a few days or months, depending on the degree of strabismus
2. Computer programs
Visual therapy can be performed using different computer programs. It involves activities that stimulate vergence, eye movements, accommodation and processing of visible information. This type of visual therapy follows traditional principles, but the variety and complexity of activities make it unique.
3. Prism or lens fixation
Your optometrist will ask you to view an item while looking at different lenses of different powers or prisms with certain orientations. This activity teaches your eyes to see things and people that may be close or close at a distance.
4. Patching
Amblyopia, also known as a lazy eye, occurs while the brain ignores the image signals from a weaker eye. This can result in the amblyopic eye lacking function. Using an eye patch on the more powerful eye will decrease stimuli, as a way to force your mind to simply accept the visible cues from the weaker eye.
5. Rest of vision
Individuals who spend long periods focusing on computer screens must observe the 20/20/20 rule. This indicates resting your eyes after 20 minutes of using the computer for at least 20 seconds while looking at an object from 30 meters away. A complete eye examination with an optometrist, however, allows you to explore unique eye protection options.
